1 Problem
Traditional setups split desk and case, with messy cabling and the loop hidden in a dark box. The workspace loses the showcase value of a beautiful build.
2 Idea
Integrate the whole rig into the desk itself: components mounted under tempered glass, copper hardline running along the steel frame as a visible circulatory system, radiators hidden in the legs.
3 Solution
A CNC steel frame with component bays, a 10mm tempered-glass top, hand-bent 14mm copper tubing, two 360 radiators in the legs with floor-intake fans. Cabling routed inside the frame, I/O ports at the desk edge.
4 Feasibility
Completed: the biggest challenges were vibration isolation for the rigid tubing and serviceability, since swapping parts means lifting the glass. Solved with quick-disconnect fittings and a hinged glass lid.
5 Current status
Completed
Stage: Project
Completed and in daily use: stable CPU and GPU temps, quiet operation — this is the showcase flagship build of Modding Cafe.
